It features a 3" thick HEPA filter (100sq. ft -10 pleats per inch HEPA material) and the highest CFM air moving capability of any residential air cleaner on the market. Bottom line, this machine doesn't have a carbon filter to slow the air moving capability and it collects a ton of dust! The Airpura H600 is similar to the R600 except that instead of a 2" thick carbon filter it features a carbon matt filter. If you're concerned or allergic to carbon filters, this is the unit for you! This is the exact same filter material sold elsewhere as "Military Cloth" for allergy sufferers. The H500 also features a 2" thick HEPA filter and the highest CFM air moving capability of any residential air cleaner on the market. Bottom line, this machine doesn't have a 2" thick carbon filter to slow the air moving capability so it collects more dust than the R600 and it can still deal with light odors and VOC issues
